For the past 16 years Media Dog has been designing web sites and creating custom applications for business in many fields of work including oil and gas, financial investment, health care, automotive, musician promotion, realty, golf, education, and quite a few others.

Media Dog's reputation for producing solid websites has expanded into a reputation for creating solid web based applications. We are looking at bringing another programmer into our application development team to help produce new applications, maintain existing applications, and help further refine and shape our development process.

As a part of the application development team you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients who all need different applications for different needs as well as produce in house software for a content management system and newsletter application. You will be part of a team that has a fairly refined and proven development process which includes distributed source code revision control, bug tracking, and multiple environments for development, staging, and production.

Your primary responsibilities will consist of:

• Requirement Analysis and Estimation
• Application and Database Architecture
• Programming in PHP or ColdFusion depending on your preference
• Quality Assurance
• Deployment
• Application Maintenance and Support

If you feel more comfortable in one of those areas, and are perhaps lacking the skills in others, this is a great opportunity for you to learn. We have others who can fill in for the weak spots until you have more experience.

We believe that better equipment makes for a better developer. Therefore the workstations you have will be modern and setup with dual monitors.

Although this role provides a high degree of freedom, time management skills are integral to our operations at Media Dog, therefore a firm understanding of the underlying technologies and excellent communication skills are necessary. Additionally you must ensure that the look and feel of the final product is polished to Media Dog standards, and quality assurance measures have been taken to provide a flawless and comfortable user experience.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of XHTML, CSS and JavaScript, including jQuery.
• PHP or ColdFusion 7+
• MySQL or MS SQL

2 or more years of experience is desired but not required.
