.NET Superheroes (we got sick of "ninjas" "rock stars" "gurus"...)
Magenic Minneapolis, MN; San Francisco, CA; Boston, MA (relocation offered)Job Description
We have openings in San Francisco, Boston, Minneapolis, Chicago and Atlanta! Relo assistance available.
We build enterprise level, custom software for our clients, most of whom (who? Not sure which to use, especially since companies are now people) are Fortune-level companies that need complex solutions to their technical problems.
That's where you come in, with all your .NET talents.
Our consultants are all full-time, salaried Magenic employees who happen to work in teams at the client's location. Generally, you're working pretty close to the local Magenic office (we're big fans of working where you live). The teams are typically 5 or 6 of us, a mix of architect, engineers, PM, QA, and the projects are 6 months+ in duration.
In between gigs, you'll hang out in the local office, working on training, certifications, etc. We aim to keep you working on cutting edge projects, with cutting-edge training. And, no, we don't cut your salary or benefits while you're on the bench. Surprised our competitors seem to do this, but hey, makes us look all the shinier by comparison.
As a .NET consultant, you'll be designing and developing systems using .NET 4.0, SQL, WCF, likely some WPF, Silverlight, HTML5, etc, depending on where in the stack you tend to work. We'll likely help you develop new skills and get you involved in all sorts of .NET tech.
All this is done at the local level, so you get to sleep in your own bed at night. We think that's a good thing.
Skills & Requirements
- Senior Developer-to-Architect level strength (you've probably been at this for awhile: 8+ years)
- OR, a Developer (4+ years) with loads of potential
- ASP.NET development using C# and/ or VB.NET
- WPF with Silverlight
- ADO.NET expertise
- Enterprise level knowledge of SQL Server
- Visual Studios 2008 (2010 would be ideal)

- Experience with Agile, or Agile-based, development methodologies
- A sense of humor and perspective (that's generally good for all jobs, but particularly true in software)
