We have a diverse and talented team of employees who come to us from many kinds of backgrounds.  We have an immediate need for a hands-on, talented, experienced Web Application Developer who will report to our Director of Development in our Naperville, IL office.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in full software development lifecycle, including development, testing, and support of Legacy.com applications based on product requirements
  • Work with other team members to ensure the quality, reliability, and maintainability of applications and systems
  • Determine and implement the best technical approach to a project while remaining in compliance with Legacy.com’s standards; ensure coding decisions comply with company process and architectural standards
  • Communicate with managers and other team members regarding project status
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve bugs and/or clarify product requirements
  • Work with the Product Management Team to clarify and determine project requirements
  • Document aspects of a project, including technical specifications
  • Research web development trends, technologies, and tools to help advance Legacy.com’s technical infrastructure
  • Serve as an on-call support person for all Legacy.com applications during an assigned support shift, including during off-hours rotational support
  • In a support role, determine how best to resolve issues as they arise – solve, escalate, etc.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with and knowledge of web development process and architecture, with a strong background in at least two of the following technologies: ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, SQL Query Language
  • Experience with Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (or higher), C# 2.0 (or higher) and ASP.NET 2.0 (or higher)
  • Experience with mobile web development, HTML5 and/or Facebook’s Open Graph API is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming with a background in one of the following: C#, C++, Java
  • Strong knowledge of web technologies and standards, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XML
  • Knowledge of relational database systems, including Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Accountable, with the ability to take ownership of a project and see it through to completion
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to determine and set task and project priorities
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent teamwork, organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work well in a very fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and high quality of work
