Sr. Android Developer

Job Description

This is an exciting position where your development will be used by millions of VZW customers.

You'll be working on the "MyVerizon" self service application on our handset devices. Creating new functionality and new Widgets.

Design and code from specifications, analyzes, evaluates, tests, debugs, documents, and implements complex software apps.    Work with the Tech lead to develop apps, components and services needed for mobile application platform

- Implements solutions to push events from server to connected devices
- Uses coding methods in specific programming languages to initiate or enhance program execution and functionality
- Participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and selection of hardware and software solutions
- Perform project management of estimating, scheduling, and monitoring tasks
- Performs expert-level engineering tasks associated with the analysis, design, and development of computer hardware, firmware, embedded systems, and/or operating systems
- Develop, maintain, and report intranet metrics
- Interface with different departments within the organization regarding new deployments
- Manage, administer, and maintain all internet and intranet sites
- Research/analyze data processing functions, methods and procedures
- Monitor program execution for expected performance

* Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 4+ years of mobile application development experience
* 2+ years of experience in mobile programming in Android, BlackBerry or iOS platforms
3+ years of Java development experience.
* Android Widget experience is a big plus
* Clear concepts in network protocols, multi-threading, distributed apps etc.
* Strong understanding of OOP, Eclipse IDE, design patterns etc.
* Experience in:
- working with XML, JSON and multi-media apps
- developing enterprise-grade apps
- Debugging, performance analysis, profiling, benchmarking etc.
- networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTPS etc.
