The Team

The Shazam application servers are built on 100% pure Java running in a Linux environment.  We care equally about performance, scalability, availability and quality.  We do extensive pair programming and we never write code without a failing test first.  We love new technology are never afraid to try new things out.

Your Responsibilities:

• Add new features to the existing Shazam backend system

• Liaise with development, operations and product teams to take a feature from your IDE of choice into production

• Bring improvements to code, automation and processes

t is essential for you to have:

• Strong OO

• ATDD/TDD or automated testing experience

• Knowledge of multithreading and Java 5+ concurrency

• Experience building system for performance and high availability

• The desire to learn and a get it done attitude

It would be nice for you to have:

• Some NoSQL knowledge

• The ability or desire to do pair programming

• Github and/or stackoverflow accounts we can look at

It would be really nice for you to have:

• AWS experience, including DynamoDB, EMR, SNS and SQS

• Contributed to open source

• Very strong knowledge of multithreading and low level Java
