The R&D News department at Bloomberg is looking for a senior multimedia development engineer/specialist to play a leading role in the design, implementation and support of multimedia products provided by Bloomberg.
The Bloomberg News Multimedia team is re-designing its end-to-end streaming infrastructure to deliver low latency, high quality videos over the Bloomberg private network, using MPEG-DASH. The system allows reporters to deliver market-impacting news ahead of the competition.
As part of this team, you will able to work on all components of the end-to-end video streaming infrastructure, including the player, back-end streaming servers, encoders etc. You will have an opportunity to make a major impact and truly define your technical legacy. The ideal candidate has a strong background in developing video applications, and experience working with web based applications, adaptive streaming protocols, DRM/encryption and online delivery platforms.
Skills & Requirements
- Programming experience in video streaming applications
- Strong C/C++ skills - A minimum of 3 years experience
- Ability to design solutions to complex problems
- Knowledge of Linux is a plus.
