Individuals with extraordinary record of intellectual and professional achievement sought to work as engineering program managers within an ambitious, well-funded high-performance computing and research group based in New York City. We are pursuing long-term projects aimed at achieving major scientific advances in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology using high-performance computation for molecular dynamics simulation.
Engineering Program Managers at D. E. Shaw Research coordinate the efforts of our small team of world-class engineers and scientists in developing and building our special-purpose Anton supercomputers. Our Anton supercomputers, which combine cutting-edge ASICs with proprietary software, speed up molecular dynamics simulations by orders of magnitude and are designed in part to fundamentally transform the process of drug discovery. Our work has received numerous high-profile awards in the past several years, including the ACM Gordon Bell Prize and several Best Papers at major high-performance and supercomputing conferences. Science magazine highlighted Anton as one of the top ten breakthroughs of 2010, and our scientific research has been published in Nature, Science, and Cell, as well as more specialized journals.
These hires will be responsible for directing and driving the day-to-day execution of technical projects, including hardware design, software development, and manufacturing. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that requires working closely with engineering leads and senior management.
